AIM

Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health

What is AIM?

AIM (Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health) is a national organization guided by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Health Resource and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). AIM offers online resources, technical assistance, webinars and learning series.

Who's Involved

New Hampshire Perinatal Quality Collaborative (NHPQC) and the Northern New England Perinatal Quality Improvement Network (NNEPQIN) at Dartmouth Health and the NH Department of Public Health Services lead the AIM perinatal quality improvement work in New Hampshire.

AIME/ERASE Webinars

NNEPQIN and the NHPQC are partnering with NH DHHS and two national initiatives, CDC’s ERASE Maternal Mortality and The Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health (AIM), to eliminate preventable maternal mortality and severe maternal morbidity. The AIM/ERASE webinar series features presentations on specific topics relevant to perinatal health and AIM Patient Safety Bundles in New Hampshire.

AIM's Mission

The NHPQC partners with the state of NH to lead perinatal improvement efforts across the state directly with hospitals, community service providers and service users.

  • 25% of perinatal women in New Hampshire experience some type of mental health condition and only a small percentage of them get adequate response and treatment.
  • Providers and staff express frustration with the barriers to treating patients with mental health conditions (clinic time, lack of referral sites for therapy and having to manage complicated patients in their community practices).

New Hampshire Patient Safety Bundles

Patient Safety Bundles are a collection of tools designed to improve outcomes, including information on evidence-informed best practices and actionable resources that can be implemented in a variety of patient care environments.

These are the bundles that our NHPQC and AIM partnership is focused on in New Hampshire.
