Perinatal Peer Workers Support Programs

Resources for perinatal peer workers including peer support workers, peer mental health navigators, recovery navigators, community resource specialists/CHWs, and doulas.

The learning series meets the second Friday of every month from 2:00–3:30pm and is open to all. This is a space to come together to collaborate, learn, and build a shared understanding of the unique and important role peer workers play in supporting the women we serve.

Monthly Topics

Each month the learning series tackles a new topic in the maternal health space and allows time for questions and discussions with a featured guest speaker

The recovery group meets the fourth Friday of every month from 2:00–3:30pm. This is a closed session for peer support workers with lived recovery experience, offering a confidential space to talk through the unique challenges of doing this work while also managing one’s own personal recovery journey.

Each month we cover a new topic for peer workers in recovery with time for discussions and the opportunity to reflect on the challenges faced when working in the maternal health space while in recovery.

Certification Pathway

Certified Recovery Support Worker (CRSW) Pathways

CRSWs are certified by the state to offer peer recovery coaching and support to people with substance use disorders.

Opportunities

  • The NH Alcohol and Drug Counselor Association
    • Provides guidance on available programs and resources. Contact Credentialing Support Partnership.
  • NH Behavioral Health Workforce Center
    • Provides an overview of the Peer Support Specialist career pathways with information on training requirements and types of roles and job opportunities in New Hampshire. For more information use the contact form on their website.

Black Lives Matter NH Doula Cohort

Offering training rooted in culturally responsive and trauma-informed care, with a curriculum aligned to Medicaid guidelines.
